Marginalia II

Nothing but a black silk scarf over the red korpe in the summer heat.

The flat was too hot for real clothes by midafternoon. I lay on the red patterned korpe and drew the black silk scarf across my chest, its edges pooling on the wool. Silk holds heat differently than skin does. It is the lightest possible compromise.
